stephen is based in Atlanta working as an art director. In October 2012 he was introduced to instagram. From there his interest in photography grew and that interest evolved into an ongoing project he refers to as combophoto's. You can follow along through his instagram feed @smcmennamy.
Pay homage to Stephen McMennamy. Use Pixlr Editor to splice pairs of pictures into single images. Play with scale in delightful ways.
1. Create a new image in Pixlr Editor, 1500 x 2100 pixels (2100 x 1500 if you want a horizontal canvas)
2. Browse the internet for two photographs. Document the source of your images. Open both images in Pixlr Editor
3. In one of the images, select and highlight half of the image to use and CUT the selection to PASTE into to your new blank image.
4. Use the FREE TRANSFORM tool to play with scale and move the image around.
5. Repeat the process for your second image to create an homage to McMennamy.
6. Save your new image for a new blog post. Title the blog post 'Homage to Stephen McMennamy. Include your homage image and the following details in your blog post: links to both of your original images; Who is Stephen McMennamy? Do you like his artwork? Why or why not? How does your image pay homage to McMennamy. Do you think your homage is successful? Why or why not?
